~A Visit From My Sister~

Wow! It has now been over 1 1/2 months since I last posted on either of my blogs. I told you thing were about to get crazy busy... but I didn't know it had already been 1 1/2 months!

Since we moved to Savannah we have had some (friends and family) stay with us in our home.
My sister came for 5 days with her two boys a few weeks ago. We had alot of fun visiting, swimming, talking, eating, and letting the boys play while she was here. I was sad to see her go but I know she was ready to be back home with her hubby who didn't get to make that trip with her.
Then last week one of my friends came with her little boy to visit us for a couple of days.We both decided that next time she has to stay longer but I will honestly take any length of visit we get!!

As for what is going on with us right now...........well........

1.) Ethan is playing soccer-I'll post a picture of him soon
2.) Tucker is saying some words--Sometimes it all sounds the same but we are making progress.
3.) Tucker no longer drinks from a bottle.. Which was a huge milestone...
4.) I am the new children's director at our church
Which I am super excited about!! I can not wait for the new Sunday school year to start... Pray for us! It starts this Sunday!
So since my friend left last Wednesday I have been preparing for a teachers Sunday school informational dinner at our home this past Friday night and then I also did a training class for the ladies last night at our home. So I have been pretty busy getting all that organized.
5.) And we are finally going on vacation soon---We are going to Destin, Fl.!! This will be our first vacation with both the boys ever!! I will have to let you know how they do. I am sure they will have a blast because they love the beach and the sand so I'm sure they will be in digging heaven!
This will also be the first time ever that we have to board our dog. She is going to hate it and probably won't eat at all while we are gone so I am a little worried about that. But she might surprise me, who knows!
6.) Ethan starts school--SOON
I am homeschooling him this year and I am so not prepared for this. I am glad I am writing about it though, b/c I just remembered I need to go order his curriculum for the year....ugghhh, another thing to add to my list of things to do. I decided to start him a little later then normal b/c he already knows most of the things he should know for K-4, so I am not rushing into this with him. Later in the year I will incorporate k-5 and 1st grade stuff with him but as for now we are taking it slowly. I guess I need to get more motivated as well, which I am hoping will happen in the next week or so!

Since I shared a little bit about what's been going on I wanted to share with you some pictures from my sisters visit.

The first night they were there Gus took the boys down to the park. This is how he brought them back!! Sweaty, hot, and dirty but they absolutely had a blast.
 POOL TIME!!
On our walk home the boys found a bug on the tree...They wanted me to take a picture of it, obviously...But who spotted this bug in the first place?
Just having fun rocking in the chairs
The next set of pictures were taken at River Street where we had dinner at Huey's and then we took some pictures afterwards.
The much enjoyed sweet potato fries
Brit
Yes, they were hanging on this dirty pole. What can I say?

Sweet Tucker.. It was getting dark at this point but I wanted you to see how big he is getting!

Getting Settled

I know, I know... I am having a hard time finding time to post on the blog these days.

First reason for not blogging lately, we are in our new place. We moved July 5th and July 9th. Woo--I am glad that is over and don't want to do it again for a very long time! The hard part wasn't just having two little ones but all the boxes and everything was so overwhelming that most of the time I didn't know where to start. I was also sad because of the friends and family I was no longer near. Well--I still am sad about that. I don't know that you ever get over moving from a town you have grown up in your entire life. But I am very glad for Gus and know that this is the right thing for us.
With lots of help from Gus we have been able to put a big dip into the unpacking. I think I have 4 large boxes sitting in the living room to unpack and then about 4 medium boxes left to unpack in a closet. So we are getting there!!
Gus of coarse has a small to-do list and the garage to finish but I am feeling really happy about our accomplishments this past week and a-half.

The boys are doing well. Ethan is in Vacation Bible School this week and then I have him registered for another VBS next week. We are signing him up for Soccer starting September and then I am registering him for T-ball as well. I think we are all looking forward to when that starts. As for Tucker he has been a bear lately. He is cutting another tooth, he's stubborn, doesn't get along with his brother, and is just plain grumpy. I am praying for this to quickly pass!

Second reason for not blogging, I just got Internet, phone, and cable on Saturday. Our neighborhood is a fiber-optic neighborhood. So we don't get to have Comcast or AT&T as providers. Everything is really difficult to do. It took the guy over 5 hours to install our Internet, Cable, and Phone on Saturday. Yeah--Not exactly what I had in mind to do all day nor did we know it would take that long--but hey--We are connected now!

So there's my short version of our life lately.
Oh and this past Sunday we were ecstatic to have some friends stop by on there way home to Florida from there weekend in Savannah. We had a wonderful time talking the afternoon away, swimming that evening, and having dinner with them. I told Gus after they left that their visit was exactly what we needed. So--you guys know who you are--Thank You So Much for Visiting US!! We loved it!

Anyone else who wants to stop in to see us, please know your welcome. We love having people over!

I haven't had much time to take pictures but I am planning on taking some of the boys this week. They are growing so fast and getting so big. I will be sure to do that soon so you don't miss out on there cute little faces!

That is all for now, folks.
Have a great rest of the week!

What the boys look like now!!

Ethan- 4 Years 3 Months Old
Tucker- 17 Months Old

I decided to compare the difference that one year is going to make. Here they are before we move.
It will be interesting to see what the changes are in 1 year!

We're Moving!

It's official. We ARE moving on July 9th.
A couple weekends ago Gus and I were able to leave the boys with his parents while we went house hunting. It was a long but fun day. I had been praying for the past week before this trip that God would show us the house he wanted us to have. I had been in search for a home off and on for the past 6 months so I felt like I knew better then the Realtors what was out there. We knew God had his hand in it and he would make that perfect house available for us. Well he did. Of course there are a few things here and there that I would change about it but I am not complaining. I am very thankful we were able to find this place and hope that the boys will love it and that we will transition well.
So thank you for all of you who were praying for us! We appreciate it so much.

We do not know how long we will be in Savannah. We have been told this is a permanent move but we will really know more come the end of next summer. Yes...Summer of 2011....Sounds so far away but I know one year will fly by. I am looking forward to meeting new people, attending the church plant we were apart of last year while up there, taking on a slower pace of life, and enjoying family and friends visiting us at our new place.

Continue to be in prayer for me as this Saturday I will be saying good bye to my sister as she leaves for Baton Rouge for 3 or so years. I know I make it sound like its on the other side of the world but it will be a good 12 hours from us in Savannah. I am a mess just thinking about it...
So I will stop rambling and go attend to my children now! Thanks for listening to me rant and tell you about our move.

Have a great week!

Whats Been Goin On?

Ok so its been way to long since my last update.days since my last post. Lately it has been--well-- CRAZY-- is an understatement.
Recently and when I say recently I mean within the last week we found out that we are moving.
We knew it was a possibility but we just never knew when. We also didn't expect  (well I guess I should say "I") didn't expect it to be this soon.

I know I have talked about trying to sell our home in the past and it just hasn't happened. With us planning on moving before July 10th we knew we would have to make some decisions. Our Realtor was really sweet and said she would let us out of our contract so we could try to rent the house. Which is what we are going to do.
I listed it on Craigslist and have talked with 4-5 people (who all check out--no scams) and are going to look at our house.
Woop--woop... I am pretty excited about that but I just pray that we will be able to pick the right renters for us. It is a scary thing renting your home for the first time. I sure don't want anyone coming in an ruining things. So we are being very careful, getting background checks amongst a few other things. So hopefully no worries there.
So yes, we are moving sometime between July 8th-July 10th to Savannah Ga. I am busy making appointments for renters, packing, playing with the kids, calling and e-mailing on homes for us, and much more. I feel like I'm running a circus!!

But I am thankful Gus has a job and I will always support him.

Well I must run for now. I need to finish a few things before our two appointments tonight. Hopefully I will get a chance to update you next week once we decide on a place. So for now-- Have a great rest of the day!
